We will be offering eight online "entrees" at our feast of learning this summer (or buffet, as Urbana's Anna Ayi might say!).
CATALYZE is the national training event for CSMs in their third year and beyond. It is designed to provide high quality training and spark renewed vision for ministry in the context of vibrant learning communities. ADs are also welcome (in fact, consider attending a course as an area team).
Registration is open now through June 9th. Courses happen the last two weeks of June, and if you take two courses (one course each week), you get the second course for 50% off!
So peruse the "menus" below, save the dates of your course(s) in your calendar, and talk with your supervisor about which courses would be both enjoyable and strategic for your professional development. Then click below to register.
Anxiety and Evangelism: What works, what doesn't, and why
Participants will learn proven ways to witness with greater peace and empathy, taking seriously the mental health of both the messenger and recipient. The course will draw from insights from spiritual formation, neuroscience and psychology to address the experience that anxiety is an inherent part of evangelism (for the sharer and the listener).

Every Corner, Every Campus, Every Country: Receiving the gifts of the global church
An increasingly multinational world requires us to expand our discipleship and ministry approach. This course will help participants to become more globally:
ROOTED – understanding our personal stories in the context of a global narrative;
AWARE – adopting a multinational, holistic lens with Scripture, current and historical events and justice issues in the US and abroad;
INCLUSIVE – engaging in relationships, shaping communities and developing campus strategies with an international mindset.
As we learn from global voices, including IFES, participants will be equipped to form and grow multinational communities to better reach their Gen Z campuses locally.

Leading from the Margins: Learning from Daniel and Esther

Pain & Prophecy: Engaging Jeremiah in a season of disruption
Rejected in his own day, Jeremiah endured difficult ministry that seemingly ended in failure. Yet the book bearing his name includes one of the greatest theological moments in the Hebrew Bible; its laments and promises echo into our time with striking relevance.
While increasing our awareness of the lenses we bring to the text, we will engage Jeremiah using a variety of methods in a vibrant learning environment. Staff will not only grow in our ability to lead into Scripture, but in our love for Scripture.

KEVIN BOYD Associate Director of Scripture Engagement

3D Theology: Deepen. Diversify. Discern.
Learning foundational theology from diverse traditions and voices, participants will sharpen their awareness of their own theological beliefs and gain skills to better dialogue with others, while the spiritual practices introduced in the course will help root all of their theological learning in a deepening sense of intimacy with God.
Expect to complete an asynchronous, online pre-course assignment. Details will be made available in the course welcome."

Becoming a Master Evangelistic Storyteller
Participants will be coached to identify their best stories for evangelistic messages, helped to match those to appropriate Scripture passages, and developed in their preaching skills through practice and feedback. All this will empower them to effectively connect to Gen Z students using their own inspiring and authentic stories.
DOUG SCHAUPP National Director of Evangelism

Strengths, Leadership & Vocation: Leveraging your strengths as you steward your development and career
Using CliftonStrengths, participants will learn to develop and leverage their strengths for ministry, mitigate their weaknesses, and discern future career possibilities that fit the way God has designed them.
A great course to take as an area team to improve team morale and effectiveness. No prior experience with strengths is necessary; if you haven't taken the assessment we'll work with you to get it done as part of your pre-course.
